Not so much a question, as a comment...At any rate, others have had questions and comments about this litter box but they are already resolved. I would not waste my money on it if I were you! I used it with two cats for several months...gave up on it for several reasons....it filled up too fast, was very hard to clean, the rake would get stuck, it was NOT odor free as they claimed, I had to buy the special, more expensive clumping litter, it would wake me up in the middle of the night, it uses electricity, I had to buy expensive refills. My cats weren't afraid of it, which is good but what a mess they made! I went back to the good old fashioned box with a cover. There is no motor to worry about, no complicated parts to clean, etc. I just change it once a week and it's good to go. I suppose the idea of the Litter Maid is good but they have many problems to work out before I would say it's worth $99.
Litter maid cat box?
I made the mistake of buying one of these too, I took it back and made them give me my money back, it was always jammed up and the smell was no better, they are useless in my opinion
Reply:I tried this automatic litter box and was very disappointed too. It would get stuck more than once a day, and the sound was so annoying that I would run over to turn it off. Sometimes when there was just a bit of clumped litter and it wouldn't even rake the whole way through. The thing was much harder to clean than normal litter boxes, so now I have 2 normal litter boxes.
Reply:I always wondered how well folks liked cleaning the rake. I'd just as soon scoop.
Reply:Ha ha don't ever believe commercials. They are liers :) I'm always up for the old fashioned box litter box. So easy :)
Reply:buy two of the automatic liter boxes that clean the liter box without you doing it
Reply:Yep, I returned mine. It was a disaster. Never mind that mine was one of the early models that ate batteries instead of using an outlet...what a nightmare! It was tough to keep clean, the rake kept getting stuck, it was a mess if the cats used the box near the side instead of dead center, and it stank. The litter ended up everywhere.
I went back to regular boxes, and now I'm using the sifting liners, which are a godsend! I'm a total convert to those, I can't believe that in 30 years of cat ownership I'd never tried them until this year. Sure, they cost a bit more, but they are worth it. Catbox duty has never been faster, cleaner, or easier. Just have to make sure you have the right size!
