Can a 16 year old work as a. . .?
i think not.. since you are a minor, that would be considered child labor.. and these hotels normally look for someone who already have work experience and they are under agency too..
Reply:no for me as for now u need to focus on your studies first cause educ. is the main priority of 18yrs. below(students etc.!)
Reply:I think not,, you can not work at the age 17 and below
Reply:Sure, as long as you have a working permit.
Reply:Well it can be against the law
Reply:Under Philippine Labor Code one should be 18 years of age or above to work legally and get all the benefits of all regular employees hired as mandated by the law.

Government has a special consideration for ages 18 and below or considered minor per se.Goverment have what you call SPES--

The Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) is mandated under Republic Act No. 7323 otherwise known as "An Act To Help Poor But Deserving Students Pursue Their Education By Encouraging Their Employment During Summer and/or Christmas Vacations, Through Incentives Granted to Employers, Allowing Them to Pay Only Sixty Per Centum of Their Salaries or Wages and The Forty Per Centum Through Education Vouchers To Be Paid By the Government, Prohibiting and Penalizing The Filing of Fraudulent and Fictitious Claims, and For Other Purposes", Under this law, the Secretary of Labor and Employment is designated Program Director of the SPES.

The SPES is a component of the President's Kabataan 2000 Program along with the Work Appreciation Program (WAP) of the Department of Labor and Employment.

Objective:

The objective of the SPES is to develop the intellectual capacities of children of poor families and harness their potentials for the country's well being. Specifically, the Program aims to help poor but deserving students pursue their education by providing income or augment their income through encouraging their employment during summer and/or Christmas vacations.

My friend work this summer so you'll save something for the next school year or wait till you are 18 years old.

I ONCE WORK IN SPES and was assigned in my school for summer job.
Reply:no. it is against labor laws and no 5 star hotel would hire you.
Reply:no you have to be at least 18 years old
Reply:as a housemaid,yes
Reply:no because 16yrs old is still minor unless if he or she has a consent with his/her parents
Reply:guess so...
Reply:she CAN... but it wouldn't be recommended lol
Reply:you can as long as you have a work permit from DOLE. As a labor law here in the philippines anyone below 18years of age should seek a working pernit for anti child labor

new law strictly regulates the employment of working children, sets the hours of work, and fully defines hazardous work and activities. Above all, it provides for stiffer penalties against any person, including parents, who push children to engage in child labor
Reply:No she finish first of her studies and when she reach at 18 should be to allowed it of being working as chamber maid and even some service crews in the fast food chain or a salesclerks in the some malls out there
