Help finding the opera "The old maid and the thief?" music?

today i was cast to play Laetitia in the opera "the old maid and the thief," for next school year. this is my first time to be a soloist in an opera, so i would really like to get a jump start on learning the music over the summer.

so the question is, is there anywhere online that i can listen to the songs from this opera? and/or see the lyrics?

Help finding the opera "The old maid and the thief?" music?
Congrats! I just finished performing "Steal Me Sweet Thief" (Sometimes also known as "What a Curse for a Woman)" I feel that is SUCH a beautiful song....Go to Itunes and look for "What a Curse for a woman" but Dawn Upshaw. I think you will love her version of "Steal Me Sweet Thief"

Good luck to you, and BTW,,,what college are you currently attending?
Reply:You can also try your school library (assuming you're in university or college). Ask the librarians if they have inter-university sharing also. You could borrow it from another school that way. The other option would be to schmooze an "older" voice teacher (find a soprano - what about your own teacher?) and get her copy.

But really don't sweat it, the music is pretty easy if you have an ear for contemporary music.

I'm going to assume you've Googled it though? Wow, originally written for radio. The things you learn.

Unfortunately, I never did the whole show or you could have mine but I've only old copies. Steal me, oh steal me sweet thief, for time's flight is stealing my youth... Such great music. Break a leg!!

PS - Someone's selling the score on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Old-Maid-and-the...
Reply:There is one of the songs here in downloads.com music section, at the bottom,

You can find some online for sale in music shopping places and maybe even in yahoo music,

Reply:There are a lot of places to buy opera scores on line. (Even obscure ones). I would check e-bay or Amazon (used) first because scores tend to be really expensive and you can typically find someone who has purchased it who will never use it again. Just make sure that you erase all of there markings before you start rehearsing so that you can make your own and not get confused. Congrats on the part and break a leg!
