At what age is a man considered an "old maid" if he has never married or had any kids?

Just read a question asking this about women, what about the men. I have met so many men who are single, never had any kids, and have only their jobs. So what should we call this guy, can he be classified an "old maid".

In the old days he was called a bachelor and no one thought anything of it. Now, often a guy is thought gay if he hasn't married by his thirties.
Reply:Only an older woman who never marries is considered an "old maid." An older man who never marries is considered a "confirmed bachelor". At what age someone is considered either an old maid or a confirmed bachelor varies depending on the culture, nationality, region, country, etc. The sad thing is that not everyone chooses to remain single, yet they are labeled this way because they held out and didn't marry just for the sake of marrying., so as to avoid the label.
